Substance-Free Parks

LiveWell Mason has been working on a substance free park signage project over the course of 2019. We have successfully worked with 14 parks throughout the county to adopt a substance free resolution and install signage. The substance free parks initiative focuses on decreasing youth exposure to second hand smoke and vapor, and modeling behavior in an effort to reduce substance usage among teens. The substance free resolution includes all forms of tobacco, including electronic cigarettes, as well as marijuana and alcohol.

LiveWell Mason also promotes Mason County's tobacco cessation resources. If you or someone you love is interested in quitting tobacco check out our resources here. LiveWell Mason has created a substance free parks toolkit for you to download. Feel free to use these templates and resources to help you reduce substance use in your community. Please let us know if you have any questions!
