The past few months have certainly stretched us thin. We are all exhausted, uncomfortable, angry, and emotionally drained. Progress moves so painfully slow, and it’s hard not to feel like we are limping forward at a time when it seems so obvious that we should be running ahead.
But these are precisely the moments when we need to direct our focus inward — not to ignore or shun the realities of the world around us, but to better understand ourselves and our own shortcomings, with the hope that one day we will be better equipped to appreciate, empathize, and sympathize with the varied experiences of our fellow humans.
This week, we want you to commit to mindfulness, and, more specifically, an awareness of how your actions impact not only yourself, but the world around you. Mindfulness, whether a mindful body scan or walk, can help you relieve pent-up tension and stay calm, but it can also teach you about yourself.
